With this in mind, all black and white keys of the CA18 are crafted entirely from wood, allowing the weight of each key to accurately represent that of a concert grand piano. The AWA Grand PRO II design incorporates additional grand piano action characteristics, such as contrasting hammer weights - appropriately graded for each playing range, bass key counter-balancing and correctly located pivot points, providing a consistent, evenly balanced touch that satisfies the demands of even the most discerning pianist.

The CA18 captures the beautiful sound of KAWAI's highly acclaimed hand-built concert grand piano, with all 88 keys of this exceptional instrument meticulously recorded, analysed, and faithfully reproduced using proprietary Harmonic Imaging™ technology. This unique process accurately recreates the broad dynamic range of the original piano, while also providing the source for a selection of additional high-quality instrument sounds. Finally, reverb and damper effects are applied, delivering rich tones with breathtaking realism and authenticity.
